SDG goal 6: Transforming Lives Kyrgyz Republic’s Water Supply Program Takes Off with Global Support

The World Bank has agreed to give $121 million to help start a big Water Supply and sanitation project in the Kyrgyz Republic. This is the first part of a long-term plan to make sure everyone in the country has clean water and good sanitation.

The project also gets money from other partners Water Supply:

1.$50 million loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)

2.$20 million loan from the OPEC Fund

3.$9 million gift (grant) from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)

4.$3.75 million gift (grant) from AIIB

This project is part of a larger 10-year plan that will use $400 million to improve water and sanitation all over the country.
