We’re high to announce that the nominations are officially open for the 9th edition of the FISU Gender Equality Awards! These awards honor unique projects and enterprise that promote gender equality in sports and create a more general environment within university sports worldwide.
There are two award categories:
FISU Gender Equality Project Award – National and Continental University Gender Equality Sports Federations (NUSFs and CUSFs) can submit an unlimited number of nominations.
FISU Gender Equality Champion Award – Each NUSF or CUSF can submit only one nominee.
How to apply:
Nominations are open to all NUSFs and CUSFs, and we inspire you to nominate commendable candidates.

The FISU Gender Equality Project Award is given to projects that have already been implemented at least once in 2023 or 2024. Special consideration will be given to projects that are sustainable and can be replicated by other organizations around the world.
The winning project will receive a €5000 grant from FISU.For instance, in 2023, the Portuguese Academic Federation of University Sport (FADU) won the FISU Gender Equality Project Award for their ‘Challenge the Numbers’ campaign, which focused on positive sports involvement through activities promoting equality, integrity, and value.
These awards are an amazing opportunity to inspire change, establish collective commitments, and celebrate the progress being made toward gender equality in sports.

Nominations for the 2025 FISU Gender Equality Awards are now open! These prestigious awards celebrate individuals and projects that are driving gender equality and inclusivity within university sports. If you represent a National University Sports Federation (NUSF) or a Continental University Sports Federation (CUSF), we encourage you to submit nominations for deserving candidates and initiatives.
