The Delhi Government has allocated ₹9,000 crore for the water and sanitation sector to ensure clean water and proper sanitation for all citizens.
“Our goal is to provide clean water to Delhi’s 3 crore people by closing the gap between the daily demand of 1,290 MGD and the current Water & Sanitation supply of 1,000 MGD,” said Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the Assembly.
To prevent tanker scams that caused problems during peak summer, the government will introduce a GPS tracking system for water tankers. It will also launch an Android app called “DJB Tanker,” allowing citizens to track and monitor tankers in real time. This will help ensure transparency and accountability in water distribution.
